Growing up in the same church when we studied in a neighboring country, Jevon first saw a singer “leading praise and worship with great enthusiasm”. She was Gladys, who turned out to be “quite popular among church friends to the point that even a simple "Hi" after the service couldn't be uttered” (Gladys: “HEY, NO SUCH THING!! You were the one who simply didn’t come up and say hii!”). Who would’ve known that we’d end up in the same cell group a couple of years later.
ONE STAYCATION THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Being in a group filled with people who simply loves to get out of the city, our relationship as friends deepened during a staycation with our friends. We exchanged thoughts, shared experiences, and of course, laughter and jokes. It's not difficult to say that from there onwards, we knew that there was something special here.
DATING WITH PURPOSE
Shortly after, we decided to commit to this relationship with that of intentional effort, not simply emotional love. We meet intensively to discuss many things, align perceptions, understand our differences, and get to know each other better as candidly as possible. Within a couple of weeks, it’s safe to say that we know each other’s deepest thoughts. In this process, although rapid it might seem to those who have never heard our stories, we want to ensure that we build a solid foundation for our marriage as soon as possible. After all, isn't that what a couple will do for 'the right one'?"
